Jordi Mondéjar, born in Darmstadt, has been Director and Deputy Chairman of CaixaBank Payments & Consumer since May 2026.

He holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies (1986–1991) from the University of Barcelona, specialising in Business Economics. He is a registered statutory auditor listed in the Official Register of Auditors of the Institute of Accounting and Auditing.

He joined “La Caixa” in 2000 (CaixaBank from 2011 onwards). He served as Executive Director of Audit, Management Control and Capital from July 2014 to November 2016, and as Chief Risk Officer from November 2016 to December 2025.

He is currently Head of Business at CaixaBank, responsible for the entire retail branch network, retail banking, corporate banking and Wealth Management. He has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona, and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has also completed the Management Development Programme (PDD) at IESE, the ESADE "Leadership and Commitment" postgraduate course, the Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) Third Degree at the University of Girona, and the "Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice Programme" (LEAP) at INSEAD.

He currently serves as a director on various entities within the CaixaBank Group: CaixaBank Tech and Imaginersgen. He is also Chairman of the Board of Telefónica Renting and a director of Comercia Global Payments.

He joined CaixaBank in 1995, holding various positions within the retail network. En 2008 se incorporó a CaixaBank Tech (entidad perteneciente al grupo CaixaBank), donde ejerció como directora de Innovación Tecnológica y Transformación Digital, liderando proyectos estratégicos de innovación y digitalización, incluyendo iniciativas vinculadas a nuevas tecnologías, como blockchain e inteligencia artificial, así como procesos de transformación de sistemas y canales.

Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, 2022, she supports global entrepreneurship through various platforms, serving as a board member of the European Innovation Council at the European Commission, Babson College WinLab, and the Stanford LBAN program, as well as a mentor and panellist for Endeavor. She has also been an angel investor since 2000, with a personal portfolio of more than 40 companies.

She previously worked for the Siemens Group, for eBay Spain, opened Facebook in Spain and in several European countries in 2008, and moved to Silicon Valley as head of LATAM in Growth, Mobile & Partnerships.

With a portfolio of more than 120 companies, it focuses on infrastructure for fintech/payments, health tech/biotech, energy and e-commerce, and it has offices in Madrid, Miami, San Francisco and São Paulo. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI).

Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, 2022, she supports global entrepreneurship through various platforms, serving as a board member of the European Innovation Council at the European Commission, Babson College WinLab, and the Stanford LBAN program, as well as a mentor and panellist for Endeavor. She has also been an angel investor since 2000, with a personal portfolio of more than 40 companies.

She previously worked for the Siemens Group, for eBay Spain, opened Facebook in Spain and in several European countries in 2008, and moved to Silicon Valley as head of LATAM in Growth, Mobile & Partnerships.

She is also a Fellow at the Centre for Information Policy Leadership.

She is a founding partner of 101 Venture Builder, S.L., a firm focused on the creation of and investment in technology companies. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Tech Barcelona, and an investor in and adviser to digital start-ups. In addition, she sits on the Board of Directors of the AED (Spanish Association of Executives) and is Chair of its Catalonia Council.

Throughout her career, she has combined experience in technology entrepreneurship, investment, advisory work and participation in governing bodies. She began her career as a tax adviser at Garrigues, advising leading companies, and subsequently became a founder and director of various technology start-ups. She has contributed to the development of several innovation hubs and start-up acceleration programmes. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Círculo de Economía.

Manel Marcet, born in Madrid, has been Chief Risk Officer of CaixaBank Payments & Consumer since April 2024.

He joined the CaixaBank Group in 2007 and served as General Manager of Risks and Finance at CaixaRenting and Finconsum until 2012. Between 2012 and 2024, he served at CaixaBank as Director of Global Risk and Infrastructure Information, Director of Risk Policies and Control, Director of Retail Risk and Director of Retail Delinquency and Recoveries.


He has also worked at companies such as General Electric Company, PwC and JP Morgan. Furthermore, he has served as a director of CaixaBank Titulización, E.G.F.T., S.A.U., Equifax Inc. and Soluciones Confirma and is a member of the Board of Directors of ASNEF (National Association of Financial Credit Institutions).

Suitability of directors and general directors or equivalent positions

In accordance with Regulation 60 of Bank of Spain Circular 2/2016, it is hereby expressly stated that all appointments of members of the Board of Directors and general directors or equivalent positions at CaixaBank Payments & Consumer, E.F.C., E.P., S.A.U. have been approved following a favourable report issued by the Appointments, Remuneration and Sustainability Committee.

 

Established procedures to ensure suitability and mechanisms to observe incompatibility regulations

Royal Decree 309/2020 of 11 February establishes the application to financial credit institutions of regulations on suitability, incompatibilities and registration of senior officers required for credit institutions pursuant to Law 10/2014 of 26 June 2014 and Royal Decree 84/2015 of 13 February 2015, requiring directors, general directors or equivalent positions responsible for internal control functions and other key positions in credit institutions to be suitable for the performance of their duties. Accordingly, they must be persons of recognised commercial and professional standing, possess adequate knowledge and experience and, in the case of directors, be capable of exercising good governance in the organisation. In accordance with the above, CaixaBank Payments & Consumer, E.F.C., E.P., S.A.U. has established a Selection, Diversity and Suitability Assessment Policy for Directors, Senior Management and other persons in key positions, as well as a protocol of procedures for assessing the suitability and appointment of directors, senior management and other persons in key positions at CaixaBank Payments & Consumer, implementing the policy approved by its Board of Directors and establishing that the Appointments and Remuneration Committee shall prepare and submit a report on the suitability of candidates to the Board of Directors, taking into account, among other aspects, a completed suitability assessment questionnaire and a detailed and updated curriculum vitae, containing the necessary information for an accurate assessment of the requirements of good commercial and professional standing and adequate knowledge and experience of candidates. The suitability assessment report shall contain the proposal for the evaluation of the candidate and shall be approved by the Board of Directors.
